1. Tournament Committee
The Committee is responsible for the overall organization of the tournament. All
decisions made by the Committee regarding the interpretation of these rules are
final.
2.Team Categories
The maximum number of players allowed to register and play in a team is 14 for U-9
(2016) and U-10 (2015) categories, and 16 for U-11 (2014) and U-12 (2013)
categories.
No player may register or play for more than one team during the tournament.
A boys’ team may include girls, regardless of the category. However, a girls’ team
may not include boys.
3. Player Eligibility
Each player must have a valid Affiliation Card issued by their respective Federation
or Association. The Affiliation Cards will be checked during team registration, and
the Committee reserves the right to verify them at any time during the tournament.
Player rosters may be modified until the day of team registration. After that date, no
changes are permitted.
Each team may include up to eight (8) players from another club who compete in
the same or a lower competition category. All players must meet the age
requirements of the category in which their team is registered.
4. Team Eligibility
All teams must comply with their respective Federation or Association.
Any team not part of the South Shore Regional Soccer Association (ARSRS) must
have a valid travel permit, which will be verified during team registration.
5. Coach Eligibility
A maximum of three (3) coaches and one (1) sports therapist are allowed on the
bench, and each must have an Affiliation Card issued by their Federation or
Association.
All must wear their wristbands to be allowed on the bench.
6. Rules of Play
U-9 (2016) and U-10 (2015): 7-a-side Soccer Québec rules apply.
U-11 (2014) and U-12 (2013): 9-a-side Soccer Québec rules apply.
Exceptions may be specified in the tournament rules.
7. Referees
The Committee assigns a Head Referee for each match, whose authority begins
upon entering the field.
For U-11 and U-12 categories, there will be two referees.
8. Substitutions
Unlimited substitutions are allowed under the following conditions, with the
referee’s approval:
During a goal kick / When a goal is scored / At halftime / When replacing an injured
player / During throw-ins by the substituting team.
If one team makes a substitution, the opposing team may do so simultaneously.
9. Expulsions
Players (red card) and/or coaches expelled during a match are automatically
suspended for the next game and may be banned from the tournament by the
Committee in cases of severe misconduct.
10. Equipment
If both teams wear similar-colored jerseys, the visiting team must change to an
alternate jersey or wear bibs. Teams must provide their own alternate jerseys.
Goalkeepers must wear jerseys distinct from the other players.
11. Match Balls
The tournament organizers will provide match balls.
12. Match Duration
All matches will be 35 minutes continuous.
A 6-goal difference ends the match immediately. Teams must be present 30 minutes
before the scheduled start time. Failure to appear may result in a forfeit and possible
disqualification.
13. Minimum Players on the Field
U-9 and U-10: 5 players
U-11 and U-12: 6 players
14. Protests
NO PROTESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED
15. Qualification Rounds
Qualification rounds will follow a round-robin format within the groups. If groups
have different numbers of teams, inter-group matches may occur. Points are
awarded as follows:
Win: 3 points Draw: 1 point Shootout win: 2 points
Loss: 0 points Forfeit: -1 point
If a draw occurs in a qualification round, a sudden-death shootout determines the
winner.
Tiebreaker criteria for equal points:
1. Head-to-head results (including shootout wins if applicable).
2. Most points in matches between tied teams.
3. Best goal differential in matches between tied teams.
4. Best goal differential in all matches.
5. Fewest goals conceded in all matches.
6. Most goals scored in all matches.
7. Penalty shootout (3 shots per team).
16. Knockout Rounds
Qualification depends on the number of groups in the category. Specific criteria are
outlined in the tournament schedule.
● 1 group: Top 2 teams play the final (no semi-finals).
● 2 groups: Winners of each group play the final (no semi-finals).
● 3 groups: The winner of each group and the best second-place team
advance to the semi-finals.
Finals consist of two 5-minute overtime periods, followed by three penalty kicks per
team, if necessary.
17. Miscellaneous
During a match, players must remain seated on the bench, except when warming
up. The same applies to coaches; only one may stand at a time to give instructions.
Any disruptive individual may be removed by the referee or tournament officials.
Teams are responsible for the behavior of their supporters. Matches may be stopped
if unauthorized individuals enter the field. The offending team may forfeit the match
or be disqualified.
The Committee reserves the right to expel any team for inappropriate or
unsportsmanlike behavior.
18. Liability OF Committee, ARSRS, and Soccer Québec
The Tournament Committee, ARSRS, and Soccer Québec are not responsible for
theft, loss, or accidents during the tournament.
